Singular Russian DJ/producer Nina Kraviz will launch her ???? (pronounced “trip”) label next month with The Deviant Octopus compilation. First announced back in May, the imprint was reportedly inspired by the attitude and aesthetics of ’90s techno labels, and aims to put forward “dusky, divergent, and trippy music to stimulate brains, dreams, and fantasies.” This initial outing will feature two new productions from Kraviz herself, alongside cuts from Terrence Dixon as Population One, veteran producers Exos and Steve Stoll, and emerging talents Bjarki and Parrish Smith.

The Deviant Octopus drops on December 8 in double-EP and digital formats, with artwork supplied by Tombo. All tracks on the album (available to preview below) will also feature on Kraviz’ DJ Kicks compilation, out in January 2015 on !K7.
