After an incredibly productive 2014, Vancouver’s 1080p label does not appear ready to let up at all in the new year. Up next on the fast-growing cassette/digital imprint is Lawd Forgive Me, a release which marks the return of NYC-based producer Max McFerren‘s MCFERRDOG alias to the fold.

Across 12 tracks, Lawd Forgive Me presents a number of euphoric, at times playful, club hybrids—vibrant synth chords, spacey FX, squiggly melodies, and robotic voices, are all just as likely to appear on any of the record’s cuts as hard-edged kicks and snares, precisely chopped samples, and generously manipulated percussion loops. Across the album’s hour-long run, McFerren somehow makes sense of it all, never taking himself too seriously (What record really could while also incorporating the chorus of Marky Mark’s “Good Vibrations” into one of its tracks?) while still never loosening is grip on the dancefloor. An impressive exercise in production gymnastics, MCFERRDOG’s Lawd Forgive Me LP can be streamed in full below ahead of its official release on January 20.
