London bass specialists Boddika and Joy Orbison have kept a bit of a low profile on the release front in 2013, though the VIP version of their “Mercy” tune from 2012 did nab a high-ranking spot on our list of the Top Tracks of 2013. 2014 looks like it’ll kickstart the pair’s collaborative output early on, as a two-track 12″ has been announced for January with a preview of both sides. “More Maim” b/w “In Here” offers more than its weight in throbbing, ominous techno, with each side pushing oil-slick and mechanical grooves.
