Multiple reports have delivered the sad news that British producer/musician Mark Bell, a member of Warp’s seminal LFO duo and frequent Bjork collaborator, has passed away. In a short statement Warp has revealed that Bell “died last week from complications after an operation.” The late electronic innovator formed LFO with Gez Varley in the 1980s, before using the name as a solo moniker after Varley left the outfit in 1996; Bell also produced seven Bjork albums including 2011’s Biophilia LP.

Following the news of his death, an outpouring of support for Bell’s work and legacy has already begun to sweep across Twitter with The Black Dog, Jackmaster, and Para One, among others, all paying their respects and acknowledging Bell’s and LFO’s influence on their music.
