Last month, Dave Huismans shared news of an impending full-length under his 2562 alias, which would break a two-year streak of leftfield techno excursions as A Made Up Sound. Just days before The New Today arrives via the Dutch producer’s own When in Doubt label, the full album has been made available to stream. First presented as a live audiovisual performance at last week’s Amsterdam Dance Event, The New Today reportedly takes its inspiration from “early European synth experiments, new age tapes, musique concrète, krautrock, post-punk, obscure electro-pop, and other largely forgotten and out-of-print music,” and can be heard here courtesy of Resident Advisor.
