After electing not to touch down in New York in 2013—so as to focus its efforts on London and the Australian city of Adelaide—Unsound Festival will return to NYC this April with five days of diverse programming. Among the artists set to be featured at the upcoming stateside edition of the Polish-born festival are Modern Love bosses Demdike Stare (pictured above), Brooklyn-based house experimentalist Huerco S., Vladislav Delay, DeepChord, and Ital. As is customary at Unsound, a number of artists will prepare special performances for the occasion: Demdike Stare will present a new live soundtrack called Concealed; noted sound artist Ben Vida will perform Damaged Particulates (undersong edition), a so-called “new exploration of sub bass… [which makes] use of bass frequencies throughout the space and on tactile bass seat-backs called SubPac.”

Clearly, Unsound has another adventurous NYC edition planned, with performances and parties set to take place across a number of the city’s venues (including Cameo Gallery, BAMcinématek, First Unitarian Church, and Issue Project Room) between April 2 and April 6. So far, Unsound’s official schedule has not been posted online, but we’ve gone ahead and included the full details of the upcoming Unsound NYC events below.
