The longevity of relevance Mount Kimbie‘s Crooks and Lovers LP has enjoyed speaks volumes about the work of the UK duo. But after a slew of non-stop international performances in support of the album over the last year, the pair is ready to at last say farewell to their heralded debut full-length with one last video. Tapping frequent visual collaborator Tyrone Lebon (who has been responsible for all the group’s press shots, artwork, and music videos) again, the “Carbonated” video follows a few young club-goers, examining the experiences they have during the heat of the dance party, before it all happens, and after, as well. Lebon describes it as, “Unique solitary moments of the night, like walking home alone and noticing little details of the city or even whilst still on the dancefloor.” Hopefully, a “farewell” to Crooks and Lovers means some new jams from Mount Kimbie are in the works, but for those who need their post-dubstep fix sooner, the duo recently stopped by the Daytrotter studios to perform four songs, which you can check out below.
