You’ve got to hand it to UK artist My Panda Shall Fly (a.k.a. Suren Seneviratne), not only is the oddball producer consistently prolific, he also constantly comes through with top-notch music videos for his tunes. Numerous My Panda Shall Fly clips have appeared on XLR8R over the years—both for his solo and collaborative work—and they’ve all been well-conceived, interesting, and executed with aplomb. Seneviratne’s latest is no different, as the video for his track with London producer Adventure Elephant, “Opening Brace,” is a unique, outright peculiar piece which plays like an unwitting homage to Wes Anderson. Basically, we’re taken through a day in the life of My Panda Shall Fly by the man himself, who narrates his surroundings while introducing us to his friends, family, and home life. It’s funny and endearing, and works quite well accompanying the tender, atmospheric electronics of the duo’s tune, which will be released with the rest of the Maccron Accent EP on March 25 via Tape Club.
