Vlad Caia has today released the first part of his debut solo album, titled Division.

Caia, a Bucharest-based DJ-producer, has previously released on Pluie/Noir Recordings, Meander, and Amphia, the label he co-runs with Cristian-Ioan Munteanu (a.k.a Cristi Cons). It is here that he’ll release Division as the label’s 14th release.

Alongside Cristi Cons, Caia also DJs, plays live, and produces as SIT (meaning “Sideways Invisibility Theory”); together they’ve released two full-lengths, namely 2009’s Sideways via Amphia and 2018’s Invisibility via Sushitech.

Division will span over two parts, each of which will feature tracks with different characters, dynamics, and composition styles.

We’re told that Caia draws inspiration from the label’s entire creative work to date and that the album is structured in a symmetrical way, not only musically, but also visually. “This mirror-like musical progression starts with lots of dynamics and harmonies which then continue with a more sonically tranquil section while heading towards a dynamic ending, thus completing the symmetry and binding both parts in a seamless album,” Caia explains.
