Earlier this month, Future Brown—the collective of Fatima Al Qadiri, Asma Maroof and Daniel Pineda of Nguzunguzu, and Lit City’s J-Cush—shared news of a debut album for vaunted UK label Warp, and ahead of its release early next year, a video for LP cut “Vernáculo” has surfaced. Commissioned by Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and premiering at this year’s Art Basel festival, the video was directed by Rory Mulhere and features guest vocalist Maluca. According to PAMM, the video appropriates “the advertising language of global beauty brands like L’Oreal and Revlon” to market an alternative Future Brown cosmetic line as part of “an exercise in capitalist surrealism.”

Future Brown’s self-titled LP will see an official release in Europe and the US on February 23 and 24, and until then, the video for “Vernáculo” can be watched here.
