As announced last month, Zak Khutoretsky (a.k.a. DVS1) recently embarked on a European tour that will run the course of October and November. The series of gigs were plotted in celebration of HUSH’s 20 years (the umbrella for his sound company, illegal parties and record label), promising “special events dedicated to his life-long pursuit of the beat & rhythm.” The full tour schedule can be found here.

The first stop—taking place on October 1—was hosted by Harbour Union at Maassilo, Rotterdam. On the bill were DVS1 himself, Serge, Dasha Rush (live), and Jeff Mills for the Wall of Sound—a four-metre high, 12-metre wide musical construction in collaboration with Danley Sound Labs and RF Shows. The aim was to replicate those soundsystem found at those illegal parties of the ’90s US Midwest rave scene.
